Edmonton Kids is a site for Edmonton kidz built by kids. That's me in front of the keyboard!
My Mom helps me with the writing and my Dad drives me to all the events and pays the bills. Mom and I have taken all the photos on this site. Fluffy can't come to some of the events but we'll add a section soon with pet friendly venues. I'll be writing some more of my stories and adventures on the Ideas from Kids section.
A friend of my mom's hosts my site free (bonus)! He lives in Calgary but we won't hold that against him. As I am a minor, you can't contact me but if you have any concerns about the website, please contact our chief webonaut (Jake Fuller) at webmaster@edmontonkids.com.

GREEN WEB SITE
Going green means more than the colors we use on our website. We use a number of technologies to make our web site eco-friendly and reduce our carbon footprint. We use style sheets, which can be reused, to reduce html code and page size. The benefits for the surfer is faster loading and reduced wait times. We encourage recycling of our web with public caching of our pages and images, allowing others to read the page without further downloads if your ISP has cached the site. We compress our pages on the way to your browser to further reduce bandwidth and speed up the user experience.
Our print style sheet strips out the header, menus, and footer and displays columns stacked on top of each other for cleaner printing, reducing paper waste. The handheld style sheet stacks all the content areas on top of each other and removes image area for faster loading. We use a LCD monitor to create the website. An LCD flat panel model uses as little as a third of the electricity of conventional tube-based models.
Overall, these green initiatives should reduce our environmental footprint and save electricity and paper.
